Hello, everyone! My name is Carol Fisher and I am a third year university student at the University of Regina. Currently, I am working towards finishing my bachelor of education with a major in English and a minor in drama. My goal is to become a teacher and to travel the world.
I have spent the majority of my life in a small town by the name of Swift Current, Saskatchewan. While I lived in Swift Current, I graduated from three different schools: Ashley Park Elementary School, O.M. Irwin Middle School, and Swift Current Comprehensive High School. My education was well received and helped me make my decision to pursue my teaching career. After graduating from high school, I spent a year at The Great Plains College taking university classes. The college was welcoming and helped me make many life-long connections. One I completed my first year of university, I moved to Regina, Saskatchewan to finish off my education degree at the University of Regina. I am currently still working on that degree.
Because I grew up in a hockey household, a lot of my time is spent enjoying hockey games at the rink and watching them on television. I have proudly been a Swift Current Broncos season ticket holder for a number of years. The other hockey teams I support are The Montreal Canadiens and The Riga Dinamos. Aside from hockey, I enjoy reading and writing. My favourite genres are fairytale and horror. My love of these genres shows up a great deal in my teaching. One of my interests is in language. During my time at university, I studied both Korean and Japanese. My goal in life is to be fluent in another language. This summer I will be going on a student exchange to Korea at the University of Ulsan. I would also like to teach overseas at some point in my teaching career.
